Bavarian Beef Roast

Ingredients
1 kg roasting beef
400 mls pureed tomatoes
330 mls beer or beef stock
1 chopped onion
1 tablespoon white vinegar
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 bay leaves
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
2 tablespoons olive oil
Method
Place beef in oiled frypan and brown it on all sides
Place it in a Dutch oven or slow cooker
Place the rest of the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to the boil
Pour the sauce over the beef
Cook in oven for about 2.5 hrs at 200 degrees celsius
Or cook in a slow cooker on low for 8 hours
Once cooked remove the beef and simmer the sauce for about 30 mins till thickened and serve beef with the sauce
