German Cabbage Recipe

Ingredients


  • 1/2 green cabbage thinly shredded

  • 1 large brown onion, diced

  • 1/4 cup oil

  • 2 cups broth

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon caraway seeds

  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar

  • salt and pepper to taste



Method


In a large saucepan fry the onions in the oil.

Add the sugar brown slightly

Add the cabbage and cook till starts to wilt and soften will take about 20-30 minutes

Add the broth

Add the remaining ingredients and cook till cabbage is soft and there is little liquid left

Serve with meat or sauasages
